The book opens with Daphne at the Frivian court where we left her, now solidly against her mother and making plans with Violie, Leopold, Cliona, and Bairre. And the Sky Bled review
This book just didn't do it for me. It had elements there that I liked and that should've made this a higher rated read, but it just wasn't working for me. That being said, there's not really a lot wrong with the book, it just ended up not being for me.
The Familiar review
I was kind of on the fence about reading this but I'm glad I did, this book was so good! Bardugo weaves a rich tale of magic and luxury and longing, and all of the characters (as usual) are complex and well rounded.

To Cage a God review
This was one of my anticipated reads of the year and it did not disappoint! There's a good mix of action, magic, and politicking going on throughout the book and I flew through this book. The Sins on Their Bones review
This definitely seems to be a book that you absolutely love or that you struggle with. I obviously thought this book deserved 4 stars, but I did struggle immensely with getting through the book. The pacing is very slow and it takes a while for the plot and the characters to really warm up. I do feel like a good portion of the first 50% could be cut without damaging the story.
The Prisoner’s Throne review
First, I want to say I called it regarding Oak being exactly the kind of person you would think he would be after being raised by Madoc, Oriana, Jude, Cardan, and Taryn (and the Court of Shadows).
Fathomfolk review
I really liked diving into the world of Fathomfolk. There's a lot of interesting things going on with the people and with the worldbuilding, and I think the different perspectives offer quite interesting views on the whole thing.
Artifice review
I was super excited when I found out Cameron was writing another historical fiction novel. I haven't read Bluebird, but I was already fascinated with the Podgórska sisters' story and loved how Cameron depicted it in The Light in Hidden Places.
Foul Heart Huntsman review
Shanghai is a city once again on the precipice. Tensions between the Nationalists and Communists have risen, driven only higher by the encroaching Japanese army.
